The last Friday of June, is traditionally the day when this year’s STX and HF students received their diplomas at the graduation ceremony at Grenaa Gymnasium.
This year, 50 students graduated with the higher secondary school examination (STX) and 40 with the higher vocational examination (HF).
“One of our most important tasks is to help them through some of the frustrations that teenage life can bring and to give them the opportunity to develop ideas and see opportunities to make a difference both locally and globally. Therefore, it is a pleasure to witness how our students develop and mature personally and academically during their years with us. We see how they contribute to the community, not only to the life of the school but also to the life of the city,” says Principal Helene Bendorff Kristensen. The activities at the Youth House Arresten here in Grenaa are largely driven by students from Grenaa Gymnasium, and their contribution to the youth universe has also become a regular feature at the Street Musician Festival.
The school’s international IB students had their graduation already at the end of May, because they have to follow the IB programme’s global exam schedule. This year, there were 74 IB students who celebrated the end of their exams together with their relatives and teachers. They will not receive their exam results until the beginning of July.

If you want to experience students from all three programmes performing together, the annual Culture Night in Grenaa always provides an opportunity for this, as the school’s choir, which consists of students from both STX, HF and IB, perform here.
A Unique Anniversary
A unique aspect of this year’s graduation was the presence of the school’s first 60-year anniversary graduates. The class of 1964 was the first to graduate from Grenaa Gymnasium.
