Interested in creating, exploring and experiencing arts and literature?
In that case, Grenaa Gymnasium is a good place for you.
You will discover that there are art works everywhere at Grenaa Gymnasium and much of it is by contemporary artists.
Let them challenge you and make you wonder!
Spring Concert and Exhibition
Give it all you’ve got on stage and have your art works exhibited.
The Spring Concert and the Spring Exhibition is a joint event where all students attending Music, Visual Arts and/or Design perform and exhibit the results of their learning.
All works you have made in Visual Arts or Design form part of the exhibition that fills large parts of the school.
In the assembly hall the music classes are in concert.
Your family, yourself and everyone interested are welcome to attend both concert and exhibition.
Optional Arts
Creativity in a friendly atmosphere
Optional Arts is an opportunity for you to use your creative skills. We help each other with ideas and techniques in:
- DrawingPainting
- Collage and papier maché
- Ceramics
- Graphic techniques
You don’t have to be experienced at all.
You can work individually or we can make joint courses on e.g. graphics or pottery.
When we stage a musical (every second year) you can help create the scenery on stage.
Optional Art is organized by Visual Arts teacher Helle Due Pedersen.
Creative Writing
Learn how to write by writing
Here is an opportunity if you’d like to learn how to write and express yourself creatively in words. This course gives you:
- Ideas to get started
- Feedback on your texts
- A sense of community with others your age who share an interest in writing
Creative writing gives you extra energy for your school work!
Creative Writing is for you if you would like to write.
It is not important if you have been writing a lot, a little or nothing at all.
Creative Writing is organized and led by teacher Rikke Gade Johansen and poet Ian Lukins

The Cultural Committee
Carry out ideas!
The Cultural Committee is for you if you would like to organize events at Grenaa Gymnasium. It is customary for The Cultural Committee to host friendly and relaxing theme lounges, e.g. Shrovetide Lounge and Easter Lounge. The Cultural Committee aims to make all events free and everyone is welcome.
