The STX-students meet and work together cross-years on the annual study programme day
While the social studies students were resting up after election night, there was a buzz of activity in the laboratories and music rooms.
Music students were clapping and playing their way through a variety of musical tasks, all requiring cooperation and attention to each other. One example was the Indonesian instrument, the anklung, where each student plays a single note.
Students on the science tracks were busy producing soap and beer, respectively. The soap was being made by A-level chemistry students, while biotechnology students were applying their microbiological knowledge to brewing beer. Perhaps some of them have now taken care of a few of this year’s Christmas presents.
