Grenaa Gymnasium, as is tradition, played a significant role in shaping Grenaa’s annual Culture Night
This year’s Culture Night in Grenaa was dedicated to celebrating August Krogh, the 150-year-old local hero and Nobel Prize laureate, under the theme “When Dreams Become Reality”. Students and teachers from Grenaa Gymnasium were fully engaged throughout the evening.
At the museum, visitors could join Danish teacher Glennie Grøfte in writing tribute poems or drawing a picture for August Krogh.
In Kulturhuset Pavilionen (the local culture house), both Visual Arts teacher Jette Lykke Jensen and music teacher Rie Kurdahl were present with IB students and the school choir, GG-koret.
The Visual Arts students created artwork based on drawings that August Krogh had made for a physiology textbook. The artwork was subsequently displayed, allowing visitors to the culture house to enjoy it for a few weeks.
GG-koret gave two mini-concerts with pieces they had managed to learn over five choir rehearsals.
The choir has grown to no less than 80 members in just a few years. Rie Kurdahl expressed her great joy at seeing that all year groups and all three programmes, STX, HF, and IB, are represented in the choir.
