The school choir has grown big and before the winter vacation gave its first solo concert
Echoes of the 80s was the title of the concert and it offered pop hits from the 1980s such as Michael Jackson’s Thriller, Band Aid’s We are the world and John Farnam’s You’re the Voice. There was also a medley of Danish 80s hits with, among others, Thomas Helmig, TV2 and Gnags represented.
Choir leader Rie Kurdahl has herself been responsible for new and adaptation of the choir arrangements and a band consisting of former students, a current student and a teacher backed the choir.
The numbers were linked together by presenters from the STX first year music C class, who had familiarized themselves with the decade’s social and music history.
Grenaa Gymnasium’s choire consists of students from both STX, HF and IB. The many international students in the choir thus had the extra challenge and experience of singing in Danish during part of the concert.
