Grenaa Gymnasium offers Danish ab initio for IB-students

Practice makes perfect and perhaps even more so when done outside the classroom. So, as the IB2 Danish ab initio students at Grenaa Gymnasium have been exploring a theme about holidays and tourism in Denmark, they visited the local tourist information centre.

Here they interviewed Kirsten Rønn Rinhack about tourism in the local area and about her job at the tourist information centre. This was a perfect opportunity to practice one’s Danish with a person not being a classmate or one’s Danish teacher, and at the same time gather information and experience for the next written assignment about interviewing.

Danish ab initio is a new subject in the IB Diploma programme and Grenaa Gymnasium is among the first IB World Schools in Denmark to offer it. The first exams are in May 2020.
