Grenaa Gymnasium is always well represented at the annual Science Festival

The Science Festival is an event many of our students are already familiar with when they start upper secondary school.
Most of them have visited it during their time in one of the municipality’s primary schools. Back then, they probably didn’t think, “One day, that might be me in high school, knowing all about this.” But now, here they are in their second or third year of STX.
The Science Festival is a nationwide event, and in Grenaa, it takes place at the local oceanarium, Kattegatcentret, which provides the facilities for the occasion. Here, upper secondary students communicate scientific knowledge to primary school pupils. They have prepared during lessons in subjects such as biotechnology, biology, physics, chemistry, and physical geography, and have come up with small tasks and experiments for the younger students to carry out. They’ve created posters and prepared themselves to instruct and explain.
This year’s theme was The City of the Future, and the tasks and experiments were therefore related to topics such as food production and wind energy.
