The IB1 students’ language week ended with a rainbow and festive atmosphere
European Language Day was once again the occasion for the IB1 students’ language week.
During the week, they worked in various ways to become aware of the languages that play a role for them as students. They created mind maps of the languages they have a relationship with, and a timeline of when the languages entered their lives.
The week concluded with a large Language Market in the canteen, where the students were grouped according to their mother tongue and presented not only their mind maps to teachers and Pre-IB students, but also decorated their stalls with national flags, objects and fun facts.
It was Friday and it had been a good week, so it became a happy celebration of the language diversity among the students.
As has become tradition some of the students had made a language rainbow that will hang in the canteen for everyone to enjoy many months to come.
