Klaus Thyman is an internationally recognized explorer, documentarian, and photographer. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and combines his many skills in projects that explore and inform about issues such as the climate crisis. He has participated in expeditions to some of the world’s most extreme environments and collaborated with organizations like NASA and the UN.

Most recently, in 2020, he discovered corals in Jammer Bay and is now working with DTU to investigate how fishing affects the corals.

He shared this information with about 90 young attendees on Sunday, March 23rd. The main organizers of the event were Matyas Kupka and Morris Kosteyev Bechmann, both IB students at Grenaa Gymnasium, who received generous support from the Kattegat Center, which not only provided the venue but also offered free admission to the attendees.

In addition to the exciting lecture, attendees could also visit the penguins and sharks, making for a very enjoyable afternoon, according to Morris and Matyas. – We are currently organizing our next event, which we hope will be a conference to develop ideas to counteract the climate crisis, says Matyas. We are in contact with Norddjurs Municipality and hope it will take place in May.

Morris adds:  – All young people are welcome, and you can follow us on Instagram at eugrenaa or on our website
